Maruti Suzuki has launched the much-awaited S-Presso in India today. Maruti Suzuki states that the S-Presso has been conceptualized and designed in India, keeping in mind the needs of the country and the world, as well. The S-Presso is being touted as a mini-SUV in the Indian market. Prices for the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso start at Rs 3.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The S-Presso gets the 5th generation Heartect K-platform which uses 40 percent high tensile steel. Apart from this, S-Presso will be sold countrywide through the Arena retail network. Here’s a closer look at the pricing of the S-Presso according to the various variants on offer (all prices ex-showroom) –
- Standard – 3.69 lakh
- Lxi – 4.05 lakh
- Vxi – 4.25 lakh, Vxi AGS – 4.68 lakh
- Vxi+ – 4.48 lakh, Vxi+ AGS – 4.91 lakh
In terms of design, Maruti Suzuki claims that the upright A-pillar and back door design give it a solid SUV presence. Furthermore, the sturdy character is reinforced by the squared wheel arches with R14 tyres. The single aperture headlamp and grille graphic along with the wide C-signature tail lamps are packaged higher-up to give a dominant presence and an instantly recognizable design character.
On the inside, the S-Presso comes loaded steering mounted audio and voice controls. There’s also Maruti Suzuki’s Smartplay Studio with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and other Smartplay Studio Apps.

Under the hood, the S-Presso gets a 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine with BS6 compliance. This engine is mated to both a manual (5-speed) and AGS (Auto Gear Shift) gearbox. The engine produces 68 HP of peak power and 90 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency figures stand at 21.7 km/l (Vxi/Vxi+) and 21.4 km/l (Std/Lxi). When it comes to safety, Maruti Suzuki has equipped the S-Presso with dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock-Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), seat belts with pre-tensioners and force Limiters, driver/co-driver seat belt reminder, rear parking assist system, high-speed warning alert and reverse parking sensors. To appeal to its youth-based audience, the S-Presso comes with six colour options.
