KTM 790 Duke Launched in India, Priced at Rs 8.64 Lakh

KTM announced the launch of its most powerful motorcycle in India today – the 790 Duke. The KTM 790 Duke has been launched at a price of Rs 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for the 790 Duke will commence from today at select dealerships across nine cities in India. These include Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Surat, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Guwahati. Since its entry into India in 2012, KTM has grown its presence across 365 cities & 460 stores. KTM states that they have built a customer base of over 2 lakh biking enthusiasts since its arrival in the country. The partnership of Bajaj Auto Limited & KTM is over 12 years old, with Bajaj Auto Limited owning 48 percent stake in KTM AG.

The KTM 790 Duke is equipped with a 799cc LC8c parallel twin-engine, liquid-cooled 8 valve, DOHC unit which produces 87 Nm of torque and 105 HP of power. As expected, the KTM comes loaded with a lot of tech like the ECU. The ECU on the KTM 790 Duke controls a host of electronic aids like the Motorcycle Stability Control with Cornering ABS, Motorcycle Traction Control & Motorcycle Slip Regulation, all of which work in tandem to keep things stable.

All lighting equipment on the KTM 790 Duke is LED and there’s a multifunctional dashboard with full-colour TFT display on offer as well. Additionally, there’s also Cornering ABS by Bosch with lean-angle sensitive Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), Quickshifter+ with Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) for smooth clutchless up and down-shifting, four Ride Modes (Sport, Street, Rain and Track) with varying Throttle Response & Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC). The handlebars, seat height (825mm) and footpegs are also adjustable on the 790 Duke.
