Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Gixxer 250. The motorcycle is the latest addition to the GIXXER portfolio which sits directly on top of the Gixxer 150 in Suzuki’s India portfolio.
The Suzuki GIXXER 250 has same 249cc mill with Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) four-stroke, single-cylinder and fuel-injected SOHC engine. Suzuki has developed this engine specifically for the Indian market and the cylinder head comes with several oil-channels laid inside to allow efficient cooling. This not only allows the engine to have less additional hardware, but also have less overall weight. The chassis along with the engine aids of superior handling, something seen and experienced on the Gixxer SF 250.. SOCS technology adopted by the motorcycle was originally designed for GSX-R which has now trickled down to the quarter-litre offering.
The new engine produces 26.5 PS of power at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suzuki GIXXER 250 is equipped with dual-channel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) offering better braking efficiency.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 comes with trapezoidal body proportions that instills a certain character to the motorcycle. It is equipped with LED headlamp and LED tail lamp, a sporty looking dual muffler, brushed finish alloy wheels and newly designed digital speedometer which displays all the relative information while riding.
Furthermore, Suzuki Gixxer 250 a new bronze engine cover, an under cowl, chrome muffler end cap design and wheels with machine finish. The newly launched SuzukiGixxer 250 is available in two colour schemes – Metallic Matte Platinum Silver/ Metallic Matte Black and a Metallic Matte Black colour retailing at a price of Rs. 159,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).
