Suzuki Motorcycle India has now launched the 250cc segment of the Suzuki Gixxer making its way in the premium 250cc market. Also, they gave the old Suzuki Gixxer SF, the 150cc motorcycle an update. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF is priced at ₹ 1,70,655 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available in two colour schemes namely, Metallic Mat Platinum Silver and Metallic Mat Black. The Suzuki Gixxer SF is priced at ₹ 1,09,870 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available in two colours options namely, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Sonic Silver or Glass sparkle black.
What does the new Gixxer SF 250 has to offer in terms of performance? Well, for starters the engine now has an oil cooling system developed by GSX-R which produces 26bhp at 9,000rpm and peak torque of 22.6Nm comes in at 7,500rpm which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Suzuki has equipped the 249cc engine with weight-reduction and friction-reduction technology that is specially developed for MotoGP machine that will enhance the riding experience. It also features a new dual-channel ABS system.
Coming to the updated version of the Gixxer SF which comes with a 155cc four-stroke, single-cylinder fuel injection, air-cooled SOHC engine with SEP technology that is capable of churning out 14bhp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and is equipped with ABS as well.
There are some cosmetic changes that enhance the look of the fully-faired motorcycle.
The most prominent one being the new LED headlight setup on both the Gixxer SF 250 and the Gixxer SF, also comes with a new instrument cluster, new bronze engine cover, and featuring newly designed wheels. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer SF will take on its Japanese rivals such as the Honda CBR 250R and Yamaha R15 V3.0.
