Not everyone in the market is looking for a top of the line variant. Here’s a comparison of three mid-level variants between Honda Civic VX, Skoda Octavia Style and Hyundai Elantra SX. Also, we are taking only the diesel variants into consideration. So, which car offers more bang for the money?
The Skoda Octavia Style variant offers automatic LED headlights and cornering lights whereas the Honda Civic VX and the Hyundai Elantra SX variants miss out on LED headlights. But, the Civic has LED taillights and fog lights. The Skoda Octavia Style also has an advantage with rain sensing wipers, headlight washers, unlike the rest. The Honda Civic VX gets 16-inch alloy wheels as compared to the 17-inch offered in the ZX variant. And in the Skoda Octavia Style variant, it gets 16-inch Velorum alloy wheels as to 16-inch Alcatras alloys offered in the L & K variant.
Honda Civic VX gets 8-way power driver’s side seat adjust, but Skoda Octavia Style gets 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, and three programmable memory functions for the driver’s side. The Hyundai Elantra SX has electric sunroof whereas the rest of the competition misses out on it.
The Honda Civic VX and the Skoda Octavia Style are high on safety features, as they both offer front side airbags as standard, the Octavia goes one step ahead by adding in curtain airbags at the front and rear, also features like the Vehicle Stability Assist, Agile Handling Assist, and Hill Start Assist are on offer on all three.
The Skoda Octavia’s diesel engine is the most powerful of the lot but has a low fuel economy. Whereas, the Honda Civic is the cheapest of the lot but is the lowest on performance.
It really depends on which car will suit your daily needs and who will be driving it. With the Civic having a decent engine, features, also the best-looking design out of the three, it is definitely the jack of all. The Octavia is surely an enthusiast’s daily driver along with practicality and will always put a smile on your face when you’re out for a Sunday drive. Not forgetting the Hyundai Elantra, it is cheaper than the two and still packs a punch with its features.
