Ducati India has announced the arrival of its most powerful production bike – the Panigale V4 R. Ducati Panigale V4R is priced at ` 51.87 lakhs (ex-showroom) India. Re-establishing the Italian twowheeler manufacturers racing heritage, the Panigale V4 R is a symphony of emotions and is the most powerful production bike ever made.

With only 5 units allocated to India, bookings for Ducati Panigale V4 R are underway across all dealerships. According to the company, those customers who book their bike before the 30th of November 2018 would be able to take delivery in the early part of Q1 2019. While those who book after this date will have to wait for the delivery of their cherished machine till the early part of Q2 2019.

The modifications extend far beyond the engine and suspension set-up. For the first time they have also included an Aero Pack designed directly by Ducati Corse in close collaboration with the Ducati Style Centre to improve ontrack aerodynamic efficiency.


BMW India has launched the highly anticipated M2 competition in India at an aggressive price point of ` 79.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Introduction of BMW M2 Competition to the market means that this would be the stepping stone for M range in BMW India’s performance cars portfolio. Competing against the likes of Porsche 718 Cayman and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45, BMW M2 Competition features the same 3.0 litre twin-turbo straight six petrol engine that is found on BMW M3 as well as BMW M4. In its detuned state, the M2 Competition produces a maximum power output 405bhp with 550 Nm of peak torque. When we compare it with M3/M4 then one would realise that there is a drop of 39 bhp in its overall power output. It was earlier speculated that BMW would bring in a manual transmission in M2 Competition. However that hasn’t happened, instead, the German automaker has introduced a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Rear wheel drive, the M2 sprints from 0 -100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds. Its top-speed is restricted to 250 kmph. With all that power under the hood, BMW is believed to have stiffened M2 Competition’s chassis. To further enhance its performance, the front and rear axles are made up of lightweight aluminium plus there is BMW’s Active M differential alongside a carbon fibre strut brace among many other things.


Maruti Suzuki have launched the much talked about Next Generation Ertiga at an introductory price tag of ` 7.44 – 10.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) India. Bookings for Maruti Ertiga had already begun at an initial amount of Rs 11,000 across all dealerships in the country. The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is very different from the out going model as it brings a more up-to-date and appealing exterior design. The Interiors to have been given a refresh alongside an all-new petrol engine.

Based on Suzuki’s 5th Generation Heartect Platform, Maruti Ertiga is being offered in India with both petrol and diesel engines. Unlike earlier, it is Maruti Ertiga petrol that gets an all-new engine while the diesel powertrain remains the same. Ertiga petrol therefore features a K15 Smart Hybrid 1.5 litre unit that is capable for producing a power output of 103 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque. It comes equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox while a 4-speed automatic stick is also in the offering. Mileage of Maruti Ertiga petrol is said to stand at 19.34 kmpl for the manual while the automatic will return a figure of 18.69 kmpl. As for the diesel model, its power plant remains the same that is the 1.3 litre Smart Hybrid motor churning out 86 bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Maruti Ertiga diesel provides a mileage of 25.47 kmpl.


Classis Legends Priivate Limited has announced the arrival of Jawa Motorcycles in India. The Jawa range for that matter comprises of Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. As anticipated earlier, the model name Jawa 300 Classic Roadster was given a ditch to promote the actual heritage that bring us back to the iconic Jawa nameplate. Thus Jawa 300 Classic Roadster/ Jawa is priced at ` 1.64 lakhs while Jawa 42 costs ` 1.55 lakhs with Jawa Perak being priced at ` 1.89 lakhs (exshowroom Delhi). Bookings for Jawa and Jawa 42 are now open across 105 dealerships in the country as deliveries are expected to begin early next year.

Powering Jawa and Jawa 42 is an-all new 293cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing a power output of 27 bhp with 28 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed gearbox. According to the company, this engine has been built from scratch in Italy and in India. The engine is BSIV complaint and shares certain components like bore and stroke with that of Mahindra Mojo’s 300 cc engine.
