After what can be termed a controversial teaser trailer which made children around the world extremely disturbed and adults equally shocked, Disney-Pixar has released the first full trailer of their upcoming animation movie, Cars 3. Directed by Brian Fee who took over the reins from John Lasseter, Cars 3 is more action-packed and story-driven than its predecessors. Or that’s what the new trailer promises. Here is the official synopsis.Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!Speaking about the new direction that is being taken by the lead character, Steve McQueen in the third movie, director Brian Fee said, “McQueen is not the young hotshot anymore, the kid he was back then in Cars 1. He’s in the middle of his life, and as an athlete, that’s getting up there. You have your whole life ahead of you, yet your career is starting to show its age. He’s looking in the mirror and realizing, ‘I’m 40 years old,’ and dealing with the fact that the thing that you love more than anything else, you might not be able to do forever.”With a voice cast consisting of Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Armie Hammer as Jackson Storm and Cristela Alonzo as Cruz Ramirez, Cars 3 will be in theaters on June 16th, 2017. Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), and Ramone (Cheech Marin) are set to return too. Will Cars 3 tap into the true potential of the franchise and take it to the greatness that it truly deserves? The answer lies on the other side of the movie’s release date.
