Video: Meet Jackson Storm – The Villain In Cars 3

After that absolutely hard-hitting teaser trailer which raised a lot of eyebrows around the world, Disney-Pixar is back with one more teaser. This time, they decided to take an entirely different path by introducing us to the three main characters who we’ll be meeting in Cars 3. Those three being, Light McQueen, Cruz Ramirez and the baddie, Jackson Storm. With its visuals and background score choices mirroring those of premier car shows like Top Gear and The Grand Tour, the new promo clip is sort of distancing itself from the grim and gritty teaser which we got to see first. But it still continues with the “this is the next level” tone and teases a slicker and more action-packed escapade than its predecessors.CARS 3Jackson Storm (fantastic choice of name) is voiced by Armie Hammer (The Man from U.N.C.L.E, The Lone Ranger) and happens to be the main antagonist. Donning the appearance of a futuristic hyper car, the 2017 Custom-Built Next Gen Piston Cup Racer is powered by an 850bhp V8 engine and can do 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Add a top speed of 214 mph top speed to his list of achievements and we can imagine the trouble that Lightning McQueen will have to go through to beat this guy.CARS 3The second new character called Cruz Ramirez has all the makings of a spunky side-kick/friend who will help our hero car find his way back to glory and happiness. Voiced by Cristela Alonzo, the yellow sports car is a 2017 CRS Sports Coup which sports a small sticker of McQueen’s racing team logo. She has a DOHC V6 engine and is no sloth by any means. 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 210mph makes her pretty close to the big boys in the movie in terms of performance.Director Brian Fee told EW, “McQueen is not the young hotshot anymore, the kid he was back then in Cars 1. He’s in the middle of his life, and as an athlete, that’s getting up there. You have your whole life ahead of you, yet your career is starting to show its age. He’s looking in the mirror and realizing, ‘I’m 40 years old,’ and dealing with the fact that the thing that you love more than anything else, you might not be able to do forever.”Cars 3 is scheduled to release in the US on June 16, 2017.Images Courtesy: Entertainment Weekly
