Right after its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show a few days ago, Lamborghini didn’t make any delays at all in launching the rear-wheel-drive Huracan LP 580-2 in India. The launch took place at the Buddh International circuit. The move goes on to validate that India is among the major markets that the Italian car maker is targeting with the new variant.
Let’s get the most important part done with early on – the price. It costs all of Rs. 2.99 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and that is your entry ticket to the Lamborghini crowd. It is the cheapest Lamborghini on sale, though the word “cheap” doesn’t really apply to a supercar which costs Rs. 3 crores.
With a 570bhp, 5.2 -litre V10 in the engine bay, the Huracan LP 580-2 is no less impressive than its LP 610-4 sibling. This one can do 0-100kph in 3.4 seconds and keep the speedometer gunning for a top whack of 320kph. It has also shed 33kgs of the all-wheel-drive Huracan’s holiday weight. So what you essentially have is a lighter and perhaps tail-happy version of donor car. Someone should make a video of this one attempting a lengthy drift.
