Every car maker out there is busy with launches these days. Has it got something to do with the season? Or is it the time when new cars hatch out of the development centers? We’ll never know. What we do know is that right after launching a couple of awesome cars in September, BMW is all set to take the wraps off two more cars. October 15 will witness the arrival of the X5M and X6M on Indian shores. Both cars will have a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 that makes 567bhp of power and 750Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the engine will be powering all four wheels and that too via BMW’s xDrive system. And that’s not all. The emperors also get new clothes in the form of new body kits which will set them apart from the standard X5 and X6. Large air intakes at the front, side gills, M badges, M-specific exterior mirrors in twin-stalk style and M-spec quad tailpipe exhaust system kick up the looks department a couple of notches. The BMW X6 M comes with a rear spoiler as well. M-spec 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels wrap up the package on both cars. Interiors feature Merino full-leather trim and M multifunction seats. If that isn’t enough, there is the fabulous iDrive infotainment system and a heads-up display comes as standard. And the cars come in two new M paint finishes – Long Beach Blue metallic and Donington Grey metallic.Mercedes-Benz GL 63 AMG, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Range Rover SVR will be in the crosshairs of the X5 M and X6 M. being performance SUVs, the X5 M and the X6 M are capable of going from 0 to 100kph in 4.2 seconds and can clock a top speed of electronically limited 250kmph. Both cars will be taking the CBU route to India and will join the rest of the cars with the M badge – the M3, M4, M5 and the recently launched 2015 M6 Gran Coupe.
