Italian sports car manufacturer brand, Lamborghini has completed 55 years in the automotive industry in May 2018. It had introduced a special limited edition 2019 Aventador Superveloce Jota (SVJ) 63 to commemorate Lamborghini’s founding year which goes a long way back in 1963 at the Pebble Beach Car Week in California on 26 August 2018. The 63 in the SVJ refers to the year 1963 and overall there will be only 63 units sold for this edition all over the world out of the 900 units produced for the Aventador SVJ.
The special edition Lamborghini set a lap record for a production car at the Nürburgring race track in Germany, clocking the circuit in 6:44.97. That’s some exceptional performance by the SVJ 63 beating Porsche 911 GT2 RS’ lap record by two seconds. The SVJ 63 has a 6.5L V12 naturally aspirated engine which churns out 770bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 720Nm at 6750rpm. The SVJ 63 has a claimed top speed of 350kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 2.8 seconds.
The SVJ also has Lamborghini’s ALA 2.0 (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system that actively varies aero load to achieve high downforce or low drag, depending on dynamic conditions. It comes with a combination of the active steering system (Lamborghini Dynamic Steering) and the rear steering system (Lamborghini Rear-wheel Steering), the 2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Coupé is not only unique, but it also embodies a top-of-the-line dynamic performance and stability with every turn of the wheel.
It has a white and black dual tone livery with a flashy 63 on its side doors and its front hood. The excessive use of carbon fibre makes the coupé lighter and it weighs around 1525 kg. Earlier last month India’s first Lamborghini Aventador SVJ was delivered in Bangalore, Karnataka to a private buyer. The price of the special edition has not been revealed yet but it will be launched in India this January.
