Maruti Suzuki have launched the much talked about Next Generation Ertiga at an introductory price tag of Rs 7.44 – 10.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) India. Bookings for Maruti Ertiga had already begun at an initial amount of Rs 11,000 across all dealerships in the country. The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is very different from the out going model as it brings a more up-to-date and appealing exterior design. The Interiors to have been given a refresh alongside an all-new petrol engine.
In comparison to what was being offered earlier, Maruti Ertiga now looks more upmarket and we suppose it would be liked by many. Therefore the design elements making a note off here is the new front grille that adds oodles of appeal. The presence projector headlamps with a redesigned front bumper further helps the cause of 2018 Maruti Ertiga. Its side profile for that matter provides a new set of alloy wheels while the rear stands to offer L-shaped tail lights, wedged shaped tail gate and a new bumper design.
As for Maruti Ertiga interiors, there are quite a few bits of advancements. These are a dual-tone cabin that provides a new sculpted dashboard along with maple wood finish and chrome accents. Like the Maruti Dzire, the New Ertiga to gets a leather wrapped flat bottom steering wheel. The seats here in are said to offer better shoulder space than before with comfort being the top priority for all its occupants. In fact according to the company, this MPV is 99mm longer, 40mm wider and 5mm taller than before. Interesting bits like air-cooled cup holders, one-touch recline for second row as well as slide mechanism for third row make its inside more user friendly. Plus there is a Smart Play Information system on-board with a 17.8 cm touch-screen that caters to Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Mirror Link.
Based on Suzuki’s 5th Generation Heartect Platform, Maruti Ertiga is being offered in India with both petrol and diesel engines. Unlike earlier, it is Maruti Ertiga petrol that gets an all-new engine while the diesel powertrain remains the same. Ertiga petrol therefore features a K15 Smart Hybrid 1.5 litre unit that is capable for producing a power output of 103 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque. It comes equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox while a 4-speed automatic stick is also in the offering. Mileage of Maruti Ertiga petrol is said to stand at 19.34 kmpl for the manual while the automatic will return a figure of 18.69 kmpl. As for the diesel model, its power plant remains the same that is the 1.3 litre Smart Hybrid motor churning out 86 bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Maruti Ertiga diesel provides a mileage of 25.47 kmpl.
Colour options available on Maruti Ertiga 2018 include shades like Pearl Metallic Auburn Red, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Oxford Blue, Pearl Artic White and Metallic Silky Silver.
