Having introduced the Marazzo MPV just a couple of months ago, Mahindra & Mahindra are now preparing to introduce a premium 7-seater SUV into the Indian market. Codenamed as Y400, Mahindra have just announced that the much-awaited SUV will be called Alturas G4. The Indian automaker will be launching this premium offering on the 24th of November 2018. Starting today, customers can go ahead and pre-book the Mahindra Alturas G4 at any Mahindra dealership across the country.
The word Alturas means ‘height’ or ‘pinnacle’. The Alturas G4 represents a gateway into luxury for those who have reached the pinnacle of success in their lives. Competing with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour expect Mahindra Alturas G4 price to be Rs 30 Lakhs plus (ex-showroom). As per the company, the Alturas G4 will offer a bold and imposing exterior design while the interiors would be premium and luxurious at the same time. It is expected to provide a thrilling performance while being very much off-road capable. There is will be unmatched safety with best in class features.
Produced at Mahindra & Mahindra’s Chakan manufacturing facility in Maharastra, the Alturas G4 will be powered by a 2.2 litre, four-cyclinder diesel engine. This engine would be capable of producing a maximum power output of 185 bhp with 420 Nm of peak torque. It will come matted to a 6-speed manual transmission while a 2WD and 4WD system would also be on offer. The feature list on Mahindra Alturas G4 could include things like a touchscreen infotainment system providing Apple CarPlay alongside Android Auto, hill start assist, hill decent control among many others.
