Japanese bike maker Yamaha has announced a vehicle refresh campaign for its flood-affected vehicles in Chennai. As we had mentioned in our previous post, more than 1000 Cr worth of vehicles have been affected because of the floods. Reaching out to the community in order to extend a helping hand- Yamaha will be repairing all the flood-affected vehicles including free labour charges for engine issues. Further, inspection of spare parts in the Yamaha vehicles through 14 checkpoints have also been included in the resolution of the campaign.
Mr. Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “Yamaha Vehicle Refresh Campaign in Kerala through Yamaha authorized network will start from August 30, 2018 for flood-affected vehicles. It will support Yamaha customers to retrieve the normalcy and efficiency of the performance of Yamaha two-wheelers from mechanical disorders, thus ensuring safety. The Vehicle Refresh Campaigns will run till September 30, 2018 across all Yamaha authorized network in Kerala.” He also added that the check-up camp starting from August 30, 2018 to September 30, 2018 will also include 14 check points and 100% free labor cost including labor charges for engine repair. All customers are thereby requested to fix appointment at nearby Yamaha authorized shop for ease of convenience.
Most of the drowned two-wheelers would be subject to heavy electrical and mechanical issues. It will take around 6 months for these dealerships to get their business back to normal and we can expect other manufacturers to compensate their respective dealerships in one way or the other. This camp will take place from August 30, 2018 to September 30, 2018.
