Long Term Review

Exhibit Garage – Long Term Reviews

In our constant endeavour to provide you with the best content and advice about cars, here is a section dedicated to the cars that we live with on an everyday basis – in rain, in traffic, in scorching heat. All of this just to provide you a real life review of your next set of wheels.

This month, we have been driving the Tata Tigor “Styleback” and  Hyundai’s mighty SUV- Tucson.

Hyundai Tucson SX (O) Diesel AT Fifth Report

During the rainy season, one needs the ground clearance of an SUV in a city like Mumbai which tends to get waterlogged at nearly every junction. However, Tucson has just gone back for it’s regular service checkup. Until now, the Tucson has taken on each and every challenge thrown at it- long road trips to Goa, weekend meeting drives to Pune or intra-city travel – the diesel auto box combo has come in handy in almost each and every situation.

Distance covered – 4789 km
Fuel efficiency – 11 kmpl (city) ; 15kmpl (highway)

Remarks – SUV’s are a boon in the rainy season and we just can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Tucson again!

Tata Tigor XZ (O) Diesel First Report

Tata was the first car maker to create the sub-4 metre sedan category with the Indigo eCS. Now with the Tigor, Tata has formed another niche for itself and after living with the Tigor for over a month now, the aesthetics of the car certainly feel special. Under the hood of our long termer is a 1.05-litre Revotorq engine which is good enough for 69bhp of power along with 140 Nm of torque which does its job well in city conditions. During peak hour rush traffic, Tigor manages to return a healthy 13+ kmpl which is brilliant considering the soaring fuel prices! Tata cars have always known to have great suspension setups and the Tigor scores top marks here too. The music system is definitely the best you can get in this segment or perhaps even a segment above. It’s a 8-speaker Harman setup and offers loads of connectivity too with it’s app suite.

Distance covered – 1523 kms

Fuel efficiency – 13.2 kmpl

Remarks – Tigor has been doing a brilliant job within the city as our daily driver!
