The finale is all set to happen at India’s only F1 complaint track- Buddh International Circuit. This is the first time in the two seasons that the Volkswagen Ameo Cup will be going to the BIC. This will be an interesting change as the drivers are quite used to drive at the MMRT and the BIC being a fully flegded F1 track with great elevation changes will throw in new challenges at them. Also, at the same time, it will be a great oppurtunity for all the drivers to exploit the potential of their race-tuned Ameo Cup cars.
Ameo Cup cars are powered by a 1.8-litre, turbocharged TSI petrol engine that produces 205bhp of power and 320NM of peak torque. This TSI motor is shared with the VW GTI hot hatch. However, unlike the DSG dual-clutch automatics that featured in the previous Vento Race car, the Ameo Race car uses a 6-speed racing sequential gearbox with steering-mounted paddle shifters. The cars run on new 17-inch wheels shod with tyres specifically developed for this car by MRF.
