The American sensation- Ford Mustang is an iconic muscle car that is known all about its unique character. With the changing times, the Safety standards in modern day cars have increased and the latest 2017 Ford Mustang went through a crash test and well, it did not perform that well. Here is a video of the same-
Ford had recently updated the Mustang once it got a 2 Star crash rating earlier in January. However, even the updated model could score just a mediocre 2 stars. The updated Ford Mustang’s safety kit includes seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, front, knee, side head, side chest and side pelvis airbags for the driver and front passenger. Among the safety tech for rear occupants are a pair of side head airbags because the seatbelts don’t feature pretensioners and load limiters. There isn’t even a reminder for the rear seatbelts either. For the child occupant, there are ISOFIX seats for a booster seat but no CRS (child restraint seats).
Under the hood of the Ford Mustang a.k.a Pony is a 5.0-litre V8 that is capable of producing 401bhp of power. The engine has been slightly downtuned for our market as it has to make do with our sub-standard fuel quality. Stay tuned to Exhibit Auto for more such updates from the Indian Automotive Industry.
