Indian auto giant, Maruti Suzuki had recently moved the Ciaz sedan to retail from its Nexa outlets. Now, the car is due for an update and the sedan will be more premium than ever. Here is what we know about it.
Mechanically, the car will remain the same i.e will use the same tried and tested frugal 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine in the 90 PS tune. It will still continue to come with the SHVS hybrid tech. The petrol motor will be powered by the same 1.4-litre naturally aspirated motor which is shared with the Ertiga as well.
Aesthetic changes will include the addition of a sunroof, new alloy wheels. We can also expect new chrome additions on the bumper-as we know we Indians love our chrome. Just like any other Maruti facelift, the changes won’t be massive and it will just be a subtle update. Maruti prefers sticking to the ideology that “why fix something that is not broken” and the same has worked for them since ages.
Honda has recently updated the City a couple of months ago and it is the direct competition to the Ciaz sedan. The carmaker has also been focusing on strict safety norms as the Dzire was launched with dual airbags and ABS as standard.
