The base variant of the Renault Duster (with no airbags) was put to test in the second round of Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) tests under the #SaferCarsForIndia activity. The SUV scored a zero rating for adult assurance in the Global NCAP, which makes us question the safety and the security questions of cars that have been made in India.
The Govt of India has tightened the rules and very soon, it will be a compulsion for cars to have 2 Airbags and ABS as standard. This has been a long-time coming and should have been considered earlier, would have ended up saving thousands of lives. India has a very high rate of fatality in road accidents and all the major countries in the world have a compulsion for cars to have airbags.
Be that as it may, for back seat child protection, the Duster figured out how to get 2 stars. The nonattendance of airbags in the base trim puts the driver at a high danger of getting harmed. This is the second round of crash tests. The first round observed the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Ford Aspire being tested which performed fairly well in comparison to the Renault Duster.
