Maruti Suzuki’s highly successful hatchback, the Swift is due for and update in the Indian market. The same has already been launched in many International markets and was also a showstopper at the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show.
However, Maruti plans to launch the Dzire first than the new Swift. Looks like the production for the same has started in the Manesar plant and the same can be expected to be showcased along with the Swift hatchback around the 2018 Auto Expo. The car spied looks like the top of the line Z variant with the diesel engine as one can see the DDiS badging on the fender. We can expect AMT transmission as well as a 5-speed manual unit.
The Swift Dzire has been a hot-selling commodity for Maruti in India and the update is only expected to take things to another level. Focusing on safety by providing standard airbags, as seen with the Ignis and the Baleno recently will be Maruti’s priority with this update.
We can expect the Swift to be launched in the coming couple of months at around Rs. 4.5 lakhs. Stay tuned for more details and a detailed review of the same.
