Japanese carmaker, Honda will be launching the WR-V in India on 16th March 2017. Bookings for the same have already commenced nationwide at a premium of Rs 21,000. India will become the first market to launch the WR-V and the made-in-India vehicle will be exported to other markets from India itself.
Honda plans to pitch the WR-V as a Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle for the young Indian buyer who wants upmarket and premium interiors coupled with modern features. Based on the Jazz hatchback, the WR-V will share a lot of parts from its hatchback sibling and the recently updated Honda City. The same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine will do the duty for the WR-V as well in a similar state of tune as the Jazz.
Talking about the launch of the Honda WR-V, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The WR-V is an all new Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle in Honda’s line-up. It will provide joy for recreational usage and comfortable driving for daily use in the city.” “Honda has started the year 2017 on a positive note. After a very successful launch of the New City 2017 in February, the WR-V launch is our second important launch this year. We are confident that both these models will propel Honda Cars India firmly on the growth path.”
