Once again reiterating the fact that superbikes have to be ridden with extreme caution, care and respect, a horrific 300kph accident has taken place at a drag strip close to Bangalore, at the Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited, located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The accident happened when a group of superbike riders were shooting for an upcoming drag race event.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 in question was ridden by an expert rider and not the owner. Apparently, the rider misjudged the length of the track and overshot before ramming the big capacity superbike into a wall at high speed. The impact threw the rider off the bike and resulted in him getting multiple injuries including a broken collar bone. The bike on the other hand disintegrated and was reduced to a twisted mess of metal, plastic and carbon-fiber.
Given that the accident happened while the bike was engaged in a motorsports activity, the owner won’t be able to claim for insurance. The bike is beyond repair and that too negates any chances of seeing it back in its owner’s garage. Costing Rs. 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Kawasaki Ninja H2 is among the most powerful machines on sale in the country, with its 1.0-liter supercharged engine churning out 197bhp of power.
