Porsche has expanded its Cayenne Platinum Edition range to accommodate the Cayenne S and the Cayenne S Diesel. Priced at Rs. 1.27 crore and Rs. 1.31 crore (all prices ex-showroom, Maharashtra), for the Porsche Cayenne S and Porsche Cayenne S Diesel respectively, the variants will have more features on board compared to the standard model. There is also the list of customary visual updates that is expected of a special edition vehicle.
The exterior is now devoid of chrome and all those places where the bling used to be has now been taken up by blacked-out trim and inserts. Another noteworthy visual difference is the replacement of the black cladding on the wheel arches with body-coloured ones. The wheels have also gotten bigger with 21-inchers occupying the wheel wells now. The interior has been attended to as well, with eight-way adjustable sports seats at the front, leather and Alcantara upholstery, Porsche logos embossed on the seat headrests and “Platinum Edition” badging on the door sill guards.
Bi-xenon headlamps with a dynamic cornering function, front and rear parking sensors, Porsche’s PCM touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, a Bose audio system and heated front seats are the major equipment that adds to the value of the Porsche Cayenne S Platinum Edition.
The special edition models are mechanically identical to their petrol and diesel versions in the Cayenne S range. That means, the 420bhp 3.6-litre twin-turbo 6-cylinder petrol engine and the 385bhp twin-turbo 8-cylinder diesel engine remain untouched and continue to be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
