In continuation in our last convertible series, here are some more convertible cars that you can buy in India –
- BMW Z4 Roadster
The Z4 has been around in India from quite some time now. Under the hood of this hard-top roadster is an inline 6-cylinder engine which has a peak power of 306PS and a torque rating of 400Nm. The Z4 retains the typical BMW driver-focused character and gives you the joy of roof down motoring at the same time. However, compared with its rivals, the Z4 feels a bit dated now and is due for a refresh.
- Mercedes Benz S 500 Cabriolet
Along with the C300, last year Mercedes Benz introduced the S500 Cabriolet, which the German automaker claims is one of the quietest convertibles in the world. Based on the current S-Class sedan on offer, the S500 Cabriolet is powered by a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, which pumps out 455PS of peak power and 700Nm of max torque.
- Lamborghini Huracan Spyder
A Lamborghini which can drop its top is amongst the most exciting things I can think of as a car nut. The Huracan Spyder is simply a convertible version of the hardcore Huracan and uses the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 motor that is good enough for 610PS of power along with 520Nm of torque. 0-100 kmph milestone can be achieved in around 3 seconds and the best
- Maserati GranCabrio
Italian supercar maker, Maserati’s GranCabrio is another luxury-sports car mixed convertible that you can buy in India. It uses a 4.8-litre V8 which can hound 450PS of power along with 510Nm of torque. The V8 is mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox and car can be customised to suit your needs/taste infinitely.
- Rolls Royce Dawn
Imagine wind blowing through you air and you are beholding the steering a Rolls Royce. Isn’t that a million dollar feeling? Exactly and literally as well. By literally I mean that you have to shell out almost a million dollars to get behind the wheel of one. Under the hood of this beauty is a 6.6-litre V12 engine from the Rolls Royce Wraith which is good enough for 570PS of power and a peak torque of 780Nm. It can hit the ton from a standstill in just 5.5 seconds and Rolls Royce also claims it to be the “Quietest convertible in the world” but for sure will get a lot of mouths talking once you buy one !
- Ferrari California T
A Ferrari which can go roofless? Yes you heard that right, you can buy the California T in India for a shade over 3 crores. It draws its prowess from a 3.9-litre V8 direct injection engine that churns out 552bhp power is capable enough to rocket from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.6 seconds. Top speed has been rated at 315 kmph which is outrageous for a convertible car.
- Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
The 911 has always been a drivers car and if you are purist behind the wheel, then look no further. Powering the 911 Cabriolet is a 3.0-litre straight six motor which is good enough for 370 brake horsepower and can do the 0-100 sprint in a shade under 5 seconds. You can also buy the more powerful 911 Cabriolet S variant which churns out 50 more horses and has a close to 4 seconds 0-100 kmph figure.
