Audi Q8 Concept Showcased at Detroit Motor Show

The Audi Q7 was launched in India almost a decade back and it was a runaway success for the German auto giant in India mainly because of it butch and masculine styling. It also became a Bollywood favourite and helped in creating a luxury brand image in India for Audi.The next gen Q7 was launched in India last year and even that has been doing some good numbers off late. Audi is a brand that has been known to display some amazing concepts at various Auto shows throughout the world. At the ongoing Detroit Motor Show, Audi has showcased the Q8 concept. Here is what the Q8 will have on offer when the actual production version hits the assembly lines.The Q8 will be more than 5 metres in length, 2 metres in width and 1.7 metres in height, retaining the butch and brawny proportions that the Q7 was originally known for. However, the concept version comes loaded with 23-inch wheels that will surely be missed out on the actual production version.Audi Q8Under the hood will be a plug-in hybrid unit which will churn out a healthy 450PS of power and 700Nm of torque from a 3.0-litre supercharged petrol engine and 100kW electric motor. The 0-100 acceleration figure will be achieved in under 6 seconds which is quite decent considering the size and the bulk of this SUV.With the plug-in hybrid tech, the Q8 will lock horns with the Volvo XC90 T8 Excellence and is expected to be priced similarly as well i.e north of Rs. 1 cr.Stay tuned to for more details  about the Audi Q8 concept and more happenings from the Detroit Motor Show. Image Source- Kelly Blue Book
