With its price range starting at Rs. 27.52 lakh, the new Toyota Fortuner which was launched two weeks ago isn’t most affordable SUV in its segment. It’s a bit pricier than the outgoing model and its immediate rivals – the Ford Endeavour and the Mitsubishi Pajero – happen to retail for lesser prices. But that hasn’t stopped Toyota loyalists from lapping up the new iteration of their favorite SUV.Toyota has recorded an amazing booking figure of 5,400 in the first two weeks since the new Fortuner’s launch and with enquiries adding up to around 16,000, the new avatar is going to be another smash hit for the manufacturer. The manufacturer also claimed that the automatic variants are getting more attention than the manual ones.As a result of the huge interest and sizeable booking numbers, the waiting period has risen to a rather patience-testing two months. Toyota is firing on all cylinders to meet the demand and intends to deliver the vehicles as much as their production line can manage at this point of time.
