Before you rush to the nearest Indian Motorcycles showroom, hear us out. The Indian Scout Sixty which has just been launched may be the cheapest bike in their range. But it isn’t that cheap since the price tag is all of Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). That places it somewhere near the budget that many of us have set aside for a decent sedan. However, if you ever fancied owning an Indian, then the Scout Sixty is the perfect stepping stone to that elite club. The Indian Scout which retails for Rs. 12.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) used to be the entry-level model in the range until now.
Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd said, “The legendary heritage of the Indian Scout is carried forward in the All-New 2016 Indian Scout Sixty. Expertly balanced and lightweight, the bike has won the hearts of bike enthusiasts around the globe. I am quite sure that the introduction of the All-New 2016 Indian Scout Sixty in the Indian market will help us grow in terms of volumes in the fast-growing luxury commuter category.”
The Indian Scout Sixty comes with a 999cc V-Twin engine that produces 76bhp of power and 88.8Nm of torque. A 5-speed transmission is in charge of transferring power to the rear wheel. It shares most of its components with the bigger brother – the Indian Scout – except for the 1,1131cc 99bhp-churning engine of the latter.
The manufacturer has also launched more than 200 accessories including seats, handlebars, foot peg relocators, saddlebags and more to customize the Scout Sixty to the rider’s preferences. To be sold in Thunder Black, Red and Pearl White shades, the cruiser will start reaching its buyers from July 2016.
