Bad times are here again for Ford India as they have issued another large-scale recall in India. While it was the Ford Figo and Aspire which got hit last month with the manufacturer recalling 42,300 cars in order to fix a critical issue pertaining to airbag deployment, this month it’s the Ford Ecosport. The recall will affect 48,000 diesel EcoSport units manufactured between April 2013 and June 2014, and 700 units manufactured between January and February 2016.
The first batch is being recalled to install a new bundle clip on the fuel and brake lines. The second batch is being called back to replace the bolts on the split folding rear bench. This is a voluntary recall and the owners can contact their local dealers to schedule the replacements which will be done free of cost.
This is the second recall for the Ecosport as the compact SUV had witnessed a recall in November 2015, when Ford discovered that some of the units sold had a faulty rear suspension.
